Teaching

Pedagogy

My approach to teaching revolves around participatory methods that are accessible to students from varying educational, social, and economic backgrounds. I believe college classrooms are a unique opportunity for students to learn not only from the instructor but also from one another. Hence, I prioritize interactive learning approaches, such as classroom discussion and catered assignments (i.e. data analysis on basketball statistics for a cohort of students who are really into March Madness). Moreover, I maintain flexibility throughout the semester, welcoming feedback and making adjustments as needed to ensure an optimal learning experience for all students.

AFRE 203: Data Analysis

Summer 2024

Anonymous feedback from students:

"Peyton provided clear objectives for each unit that were easily obtainable through all of the material she provided going above and beyond in providing extra material that could cater to different learning types."

"I greatly appreciated how she incorporated different ways to learn the material with people's different learning styles in mind, but also to ensure we thoroughly understood the material. She did such a great job and I felt I actually understood the material vs just needing to memorize it."
